Description

In the Highlands of Medieval Scotland, an epic battle is taking place underfoot! Rivaling rat clans clash in a bid for the throne in this fast take on the card game War. Both players have a hand of eight cards, numbered 0 to 7, with each character on the card possessing a special power. In a calculated duel, both players reveal a card. The victory goes to the higher number, unless the special power overrules. The first player to win four rounds claims the kingdom for their clan. This minimalist wonder plays in just minutes but packs rich game play and plenty of suspense.

Easy, fun, travels well

This is a not so simple trick taking game with eight cards each for two players. It comes in secure tin with a small instruction book. The cards are nestled in a foam cut out, insuring they don’t rattle or take too much abuse inside. The cards have nice thematic illustrations of the two rat clans sparring with each other. You can easily break it out as a 15-20 minute, two person filler game or take it with you while waiting on a flight.

You can teach this in about 1 minute with adults. Children might need an extra minute to catch on. You play one card at a time simultaneously. The highest card wins unless acted on by your foe’s card. Play until four tricks are taken and then you can quickly reset for a rematch. Some variations are suggested in the rule book. For what this is, it’s a 5/5 game.

Simple and fun

I love games with low rules overhead that are fun and make you just want to play them over and over. Got this on sale for a ridiculously low price and could not be happier with the purchase.
